Voice is activated by selecting the edit menu (top left )
preferences, voice chat, enable.
( if you have a Mac you will need a freeware program called SoundFlower, check sl resources site )
Select enable this will activate voice, next move to device setting, select the headphones you are using, mic levels should be set for one green bar when you speak moderately.
 Back in the main screen If someone has a low mic setting and you cannot hear them well, next to the voice talk button (bottom right) there is a button that will display a menu of  all voice participants in a session, turn up the sliders as required.
If you cannot hear voice and you know you have it correctly activated.
1st    check voice is enabled in the area and that the event is not in stream.
2nd   that your equipment is working, plugged in and that your mute buttons are not engaged

remember not to use loudspeakers in conjunction with active mic's, feedback loops are no fun.
